Everything You Always Wanted to Know about The Master and Margarita

Today the Dutch version of a new book written by your webmaster has been published under the title Alles wat u altijd al wilde weten over De meester en Margarita or Everything You Always Wanted to Know about The Master and Margarita.

The book contains, besides the Annotatiobs per Chapter from this website, very detailed descriptions of all the characters from the novel and their prototypes. It also describes the places Bulgakov wrote about in the novel and the role they played in the author's life.

In the appendices of this book you will find the text of a passage that does not appear in the Dutch and English translations of the novel, as well as the Dutch text of Bears in the Caviar, the hilarious eyewitness report that Charles Thayer wrote about the sensational Spring Festival organised by the American ambassador William Bullitt in Moscow on April 23, 1935. Mikhail Bulgakov himself was there, and it inspired him to describe the famous Ball of Satan.

The book Alles wat u altijd al wilde weten over De meester en Margarita can be ordered as a 483-page paperback from Lulu Press, or as an e-book in PDF format, which can be downloaded from this website.

The English translation will be published in January 2021.
